My name is Matt and I live in England. I originally started this blog in September/October 2013 as a way of cataloguing the work I did in University, including my dissertation project. However, since this date, the blog has grown into something much more. Now that university is over the blog is to catalogue my adventures in the wide world as well as to raise awareness of the wildlife & conservation efforts which mean so much to me.
I have always held a huge interest for animals. From a young age my biggest desire has been to work with animals in some capacity. As a child I initially wanted to become a paleontologist, as any young lad thinks, dinosaurs were very cool & Jurassic Park was the best film ever made. To be honest, even today, some of this is true, dinosaurs are very cool, but Jurassic Park isn't the best film ever made, that title belongs rightfully to Alien (still top 10 though!). However, as I continued to grow my interests developed as I watched an awful lot of dinosaur & wildlife programs including works by David Attenborough, Steve Irwin and Chris Packham who proved to be immensely influential to me and allowed my interests to flourish and grow. It was from this I began to visit a lot of zoos and got the opportunity to volunteer at a local Falconry Centre 7 years ago. From this I found out that I hold a special interest in birds. They fascinated me, especially raptors.
Ever since I have gotten through school and studied Applied Animal Studies at university whilst continuing my volunteer work at the falconry centre. Working in a captive environment and studying around it, working in the area of keeping has really become my aim.
I am also very interested in films and music, so expect a few articles and updates surrounding those areas. Other than that, feel free to contact me through the 'Contact Me' page. I welcome comments, queries, follows, likes, shares etc & I hope you enjoy the blog.
